Tips for Moving
Dear FlyLady,
We are moving in a month and I have three small children. I am trying to pack by zones after the kids go to bed (so I’m packing up the kitchen this week) but I’m wondering if you have any other tips for packing, moving and unpacking the FlyLady way.
Thanks!

Dear Friend,
This question is so appropriate for our Super Fling Boogie!! In order to make moving and packing go smoothly the first thing you have to do is FLING your clutter. Don’t move stuff you don’t love, need, or use regularly. Once the clutter is gone packing is a breeze. Unpacking is even more fun, because you have only packed things that bring you joy and you actually have a place for.
So Fling out all the clutter and then start packing 15 minutes at a time. You don’t have to wait till the kids are in bed to pack a little at a time. You can pack a box in 5 minutes if you don’t have to sort through the clutter to do it.
We have moving tips on our website and in our book Sink Reflections.
