Dear Friends,
When we think of the holiday season, too often people think about hustle and bustle, too much to do, and too little time to do it. Bring back the magic of the season. What part of the season makes you feel the most joy if you allow yourself the time to partake? Is it lovingly wrapping gifts with beautiful ribbon and gift tags? Is it going for a drive to see the beautiful light displays? How about viewing holiday classics such as a “Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” or one of my family’s favorites, “A Christmas Story?” Is it dropping off surprise treats to delight friends in a fun game of Secret Santa?
Whatever portion of the season that brings you joy, make plans to indulge in that activity. Slowing down the pace during the holidays and scheduling fun time for yourself in the midst of so much stress will help you have a much more enjoyable holiday season. Simple little enjoyable activities scattered throughout the season will keep tension to a minimum and happiness to a maximum! This is not the time to plan a Norman Rockwell perfectionist’s dream of a holiday, but the time to find joy in little blessings that are all around you.
Have fun adding a little holiday magic to your plans for the week.
You are so worth it!
Love,
FlyLady Dana
