Bring on the Holiday Cruising Missions

Dearest FlyLady and crew,

I can hardly wait to begin cruising through the holidays with you. I have been a FlyBaby for 3 1/2 years. The first year of flying, I couldn’t figure out what this cruising thing was all about! I thought this is one weird group! Where are they going???? I kept reading the e-mails but never doing the missions. After a frantic shopping spree just a few days before Christmas and several sleepless nights, I swore that I wouldn’t do THAT again!

The next year, I gladly joined in the missions. I can’t believe the difference it made in my attitude. I have never been so relaxed during the Holidays. I purchased clutter free gifts, baked cookies with my college age daughter (using the yummy recipes sent in by readers) and was able to truly appreciate the reason for the season! My dinner was planned and prepared ahead and for once when the family arrived, I could enjoy visiting with them!

Last year, our daughter got married the day after Christmas! Was I stressed? Not really. I used your holiday cruising missions to keep me on track for wedding planning too (just a little adapting here and there). I made lists and stuck to them as much as possible. I normally host the family Christmas dinner (30 people) on Christmas day. I loved myself enough to tell the family we weren’t hosting the gathering! Can you believe, no one stepped forward to have people at their house! We had a quiet gift exchange (only 5 of us!) and a simple but nice dinner – and saw all the family at the wedding the next day.

I can hardly wait to get started on this years’ holiday cruise. Bring on the missions!!!! Thank you for helping me overcome my stinkin’ thinkin’ and clutter. My house makes me smile when I walk in the door!

God bless you all!
