This week I would like us to focus on something really simple…. BREATHING!
How often do we catch ourselves almost holding our breath as we deal with stressful situations? I’m really bad about doing this when I’m in a car driving through construction zones with the tall concrete road dividers! ACK!
Every day this week, take a little time to stop what you’re doing and concentrate on your breathing. Breathe slowly and deeply, in through the nose and out through the mouth. Feel the stress melt away as you exhale and think of a positive affirmation as you inhale.
For a longer pampering session, lie down and breathe deeply through your nose and out your mouth. Once you feel yourself relaxing concentrate on relaxing all the tension everywhere in your body. Starting with your head, concentrate on letting the tension go.. from the top of your head… the forehead…. around the eyes…. around your mouth… your jawline… then your neck…. Let the weight of your body fully sink into surface you’re laying on, totally relaxed like a rag doll. Feel the tension float away as you work your way down to your toes! (It’s okay to take off your laceup shoes for your pampering session! LOL)
Pampering sessions don’t have to be expensive or time consuming. Taking a few moments like these to relax throughout the day helps you FLY a little lighter!
