FLYing In An Emergency

Shiny SinkDearest FlyLady,

I have been FLYing off and on for about 3 years. Mostly more off than on. But I’m baby-stepping my way to the peace I know I can have. As I look around my home, I see the improvements that have already been made. My bed is made most days my sink shiny most days, and my attitude lighter every day.

Over the course of these 3 years, I’ve wanted to write you a testimonial many times, but never felt that I had quite achieved the “greatness” that I thought I needed before I could write. That all changed this past weekend.

I live with my DH, DS – 5 and DD – 1. My DH is a deputy and therefore works every other weekend.  He was at work this weekend when crisis hit. My DD had been sick off and on for a few days. On Saturday, she had a seizure. I called the rescue squad and the dispatchers got in touch with my DH who met us at our house. My DD was rushed to the local hospital, then transferred to a larger hospital a few hours later for more tests since she suffered 3 more seizures while at the hospital. The good news regarding her is the doctors believe it was due to the virus she has and do not believe she has any neurological problems. Now onto the testimonial part….

As I sat on my step hysterically waiting for the rescue squad, I was showered, dressed to my shoes, make up on and I knew exactly where my purse with the insurance cards was. I was ready to go. I had meat thawing out for dinner, my father-in-law was able to cook dinner for my DS while my mother-in-law met us at the hospital.

Before I found you, I would have probably still been in my jammies, with freaky hair and fuzzy teeth. I wouldn’t have had a clue where my insurance cards were and dinner would have been a 5 PM guessing game to throw something together.

I can’t thank you enough for the improvements I’ve already seen and the many more to come….You are a blessing to all of us.

FLYing along with a now healthy DD (and a wonderful family to boot) in VA
