I have been keeping up with the Before Bed Routine for several months now, even through the summer.
Once I didn’t keep up with the kids BBR during the summer since we were not on any particular schedule. Once school started my daughter said she had missed her BBR. I had no idea. I told her she could have done it herself during the summer if she had wanted too. She said she didn’t know how.
During the school year I am careful of what the kids wear because of schedules like only Tennis Shoes for Gym day etc. So I use to pull out their clothes for the following day. Now I have the kids help by checking the calendar for the following day and they choose their clothes while I watch. I realized I was holding the kids back because I was doing everything for them.
BTW, my DH is also doing the BBR off and on for the last couple weeks. He did ask, before he started, why I have so much more energy in the morning and why I get dressed every day now, even during the summer.
I am realizing it just feels weird not being dressed first thing in the morning. I think of the weekends that I would stay in PJ’s the whole time. I hardly would get anything done around the house or go out to do anything.
One other positive about the BBR is getting to bed on time. I turn off my computer now by 11PM and if I am not tired I lay in bed and read some of my books or magazines I have been wanting to read. I have found my “ME” time right before bed. Plus because I relax before going to bed I sleep better and actually need less sleep than before I had a Before Bed Routine.

Rebecca here: This month we are focusing on the before bed routine.
Part of this routine is gathering up everything you need for the following day and putting it in one place. This place is your launch pad. You will be able to grab and go!
Where is your place? Do you have a bag? A water bottle or your office in a bag?
Please share your own tips or stories on the benefits and blessings of the Before Bed Routine.
