I have been FLYing now for about 2 1/2 years. I don’t receive the daily emails anymore, but I wanted you to know how much good you have been and what a blessing you are to our family. Last night when I went “back” to get ready for bed & realized that as I walked through our bedroom to get to the bath, I exhaled a sigh of…..well, I’m not sure. Relief, rest, thankfulness? I remember thinking what a blessing it is to live in a decluttered, organized home.
After spending much time reading so many amazing testimonials, I decided to try it solo & realized you’d taught me so much I was able to just remember. I come back periodically to refresh & remind myself of certain suggested tips or to find general encouragement. But you are really now a part of my thinking & I have learned to be a tidy person!
I was not an organized person by nature. There has always been a reason for the mess. I was a busy teenager with no time to pick up….busy college student with no time to organize a much smaller living space & who had not taken the time to throw away things I didn’t use or love. Busy mother of three little ones under the age of four….busy home schooling mother….there’s always a reason/excuse if we allow one to be there. But then a friend introduced me to you. Your organized system was what I needed. You used grace instead of trying to be perfect. I appreciate your phrases & 2-minute room quick pick ups. My children know “FlyLady” & now hear me say encouraging things like, “just do your hot spots for 3 minutes….you’ll be amazed what a difference it will make. Thank you, children….” rather than, “would you Plllleeeease pick up that mess? I can’t believe you still want to keep that thank you-note….”
Thank you for helping to be not only a better version of me, but a better wife & mother to the ones I love. You are impacting my children & the future generations of my family.
With sincere thanks & appreciation,
Elizabeth
