Welcome to a new month and a new habit! February is Declutter for 15 minutes, and we are going to take full advantage of our time. Monday through Friday this month you will get a new Declutter Mission that follows the Zone we are in. If you have a declutter story or an idea that you have found to be useful please send us an email with MY DECLUTTER STORY in the subject line!
February Declutter Mission: #2 – Zone 2
Today declutter the silverware drawer. Cull through all the items in this drawer, keep only what you use and get rid of the rest.
Recently my bathroom was converted into a wet room. ( A wet room is basically a shower room does away with the shower screen and tray, and has an open, fully tiled shower area.)
I decluttered as I emptied the two cupboards into three small laundry baskets.
I was constantly surprised at what I hoarded.
Why did I think we would use 12 year old face packs, 40 year old cosmetics and soap that everyone is allergic too?
The wet room looked so lovely and EMPTY. I finally understood about the peace, FlyLady tells us about. I decided whatever went back had to earn it’s place – No more piling stuff on the windowsill or floor !!
After decluttering the already decluttered stuff (does it breed in the night like wire coat hangers do?) I was down to one!!! – yes – one very small laundry basket of stuff.
One week later and the wet room is still clutter free and shining.
I feel so happy whenever I’m in there. Thank you all, for patiently & gently reminding us to get off our Franny’s, even for those of us who are physically challenged.
