We always clean out our gallon milk containers and fill them with water; we keep 2 of them in the kitchen with the lids off. Letting them sit allows the chlorine in the water to evaporate/dissipate, which means healthier water to drink. It also gives us water in the event of our water being turned off. We have several with their lids on, downstairs, also in the event that water problems occur. “Being prepared” and “planning ahead”.
