Welcome to a new month and a new habit! February is Declutter for 15 minutes, and we are going to take full advantage of our time. Monday through Friday this month you will get a new Declutter Mission that follows the Zone we are in. If you have a declutter story or an idea that you have found to be useful please send us an email with MY DECLUTTER STORY in the subject line!

February Declutter Mission: #4 – Zone 2
It is Thursday, and let’s take on the containers and lids. Throw out containers without lids and lids with no containers. I am sure many of you have experienced an avalanche of plastic containers when you open the cabinet! I know I have!
Fly lady,
I just started receiving your emails a few weeks ago, and I have acted on some (not all) of them. Last week I came down with bronchitis, so I read the emails but didn’t have the strength to get up–but your repeated reminder to just ” start where you are” helped me not feel guilty during this “down time.”
Today, feeling better, I tackled my front hall closet, and found the following to give away: two baseball caps, two umbrellas, three scarves, one pair of ski gloves, one rain jacket, and a beautiful two-piece winter jacket from LL Bean (outer windbreaker with inner detachable puffy lining) that I had been holding onto, even though I now live in the South!
I bundled everything together and took the bag out to the car so I can drop it off at Goodwill.
My closet feels lighter & brighter, and everything that’s left is useful–but I reminded myself that in case I find I’m not really using something, I can do an additional decluttering.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Judy
