Thank you for doing the Chaos to Clean book with us last month. I watched every day and followed along letting it be a grand experiment to see if I could really implement the FlyLady system.

Part of what I did was set out to prove you wrong. There’s no way anything could only take 2 minutes. Turns out I can get my dishes washed in two minutes while my hot water is in the microwave for my tea.

This got me thinking about the rest of the things you said. I thought about sticking to cleaning one room in my house a little at a time. I started in the bathroom. Sure enough, with my purple rag I was able to wipe down the years of dust on my light fixtures in BOTH bathrooms in 15 minutes. So the next day I did 15 more minutes.

Then I was thinking I could clean the ceiling fan in the bedroom. But I dreaded it. My mom always made me vacuum it first, take off the light fixtures and then wipe everything down. I didn’t want to do that. Then your voice came through my head. “I do it my way, you do it your way.” So I set my timer and sure enough, it took me less than 15 minutes to clean my ceiling fan with my purple rag. I’m in love with that thing!

I nearly cried that day as I finally realized that I have been standing in the way of the clean house of my dreams with my whining and negative thinking. I am only 15 minutes a day away from a sparking house! I just have to focus and do something.

So now I’m swishing and swiping, (love my Rubba swishas!) doing the missions, decluttering just a tiny bit every day, menu planning and eating healthy meals. Plus my morning and bedtime routines are solid!

I feel like I’m flying and I am so proud of myself. I am so blessed by you and your message. My husband and I are planning on starting our family. I think I can be the mother I want to be living in a castle!
