Dear FlyLady,

I just finished a project and had to thank you immediately! Your purple rags saved the day!

A dear friend knows we are doing some sprucing up of our current home before we sell it. So when she moved into her new house and didn’t like the finish of some of the fixtures, she asked if we’d like them. She sent over boxes of goodies for us!

Anyway, back to the reason I had to tell you immediately how awesome the purple rags are… there was quite a bit of paint & dust on the bathroom light. I was nervous it would be a waste of time to try to clean it. Pre-FlyLady, I would’ve gotten the most caustic cleaner I could find to scour that paint and grime off. Then I heard your voice saying, water and elbow grease can accomplish a lot. So I instead cleaned all that mess off with a bucket of water, a bit of dish soap, and a purple rag! I even got to talk to my little one as I scrubbed. I didn’t have to worry about accidentally splashing her with anything harmful or terrible fumes. We had a great chat while i worked.

The result is a gleaming, new-to-us light that will go wonderfully in our bathroom. I didn’t damage the frosted glass or the nickel finish one bit!

-Finally Moving to the Country in TN

FlyLady here: Today I am painting/sealing our new back doors. We have so much rain here that we can’t wait for a painter!

I am doing it 15 minutes at a time. I too am using an old purple rag to clean the polyurethane from the door gaskets. Will the doors be perfect? NO! Will they be sealed? YES!

Right now I am taking a 15 minute break. I am still surprised at how much I can get done 15 minutes at a time!
