Month to Month

Dear Flylady,

Menu planning has been hit and miss for our family. The bonus is that at least we take meat out of the freezer the evening before so a plan comes together.  But we do best when we plan further out.  This month we are trying something new.

Using the FlyLady Calendar, we have post-it flags with main courses written on.  I have put them on each day of November.  We have flags that say “out to eat”, “new recipe” and page numbers from our favorite recipe book.

There are several dishes that we eat a lot in the summer, but not in winter and vice versa.  Those flags move into the note section of a spring month which is large enough to hold several.

Here’s the bonus:
When the next month rolls around- move those flags!  Easy!

I hope this will help someone else who doesn’t have time to menu plan.  The start up does take a few minutes. I started by writing the most common foods we eat on the flags and built from there.
