Singing the Praises

Well FlyLady,

Here I am coming to the end of my third week of reading and following your daily emails.  I have learned that I was already doing some of these daily tasks, but just not daily enough.  I definitely feel better about myself, knowing that I don’t have to try and clean everything right away.  I like having the established zones and don’t get upset when something doesn’t get done during the day.  It will always come around again in a few weeks and I can tackle the mission then.  I am still trying to figure out my control journal and missions, but I know that I will get to everything in time.

I am a WAHM that has a Child care business and what a blessing the timers have been.  We use them for our activities and to clean up.  The kids love them.  So do my own children.  Just today I didn’t feel like picking up in the living room, because I felt too tired.  But I set the timer for 15 minutes and voile, it was picked up, toys away and vacuumed in that time.  Then I made sure I rewarded myself with a glass of freshly made fruit juice, which also perked my right up.

And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your mop and rags.  I have also become a mop junkie.  I have always disliked washing my floors, but your FlyLady mop is a total wonder.  I think I have mopped my floors more times in the past week, then I have in the past six months.  I have tried every type of mop they sell, but nothing has ever been this easy.  I can’t wait to try it on our boat.

I just received my purple rags in a bag today, and was so pleased with the mop that I couldn’t wait to use the rags.  I cannot sing their praises enough.  I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t tried them for myself.  I got so carried away, I cleaned the front porch and kitchen windows.  Inside and out, all within 20 minutes, no buckets of dirty soapy water or paper towel waste.  No mess, that was the best part.

I also purchased two new Calendars, one for me and one for my DD who is 13.  I have shown her the Student Control Journal and she has been reading it.  That’s a start and I am hoping this will help her with her poor organizational skills.  She loves your timer, too.  I will ask her to set it for 15 minutes and clean her room.  She is always done early, and feels good that she can clean it so quickly.

She and I are still just taking babysteps, but it has brought us closer together and she understands my need and desire for being more organized.  We are looking forward to using all the extra time together to work on her tennis skills this summer.

Thank you for all your inspirations and wonderful products that are making my life so much easier.
