August Habit #21 I Would Have Procrastinated

Your “a load a day” saved my bacon the first week I joined FlyLady – back in April. The water was out so my usual washer load or two a day wasn’t possible – I was going to have to hand wash in the creek. (This was just daily life for me on another island for three whole years long long ago when my kids were little).

August Habit #20 I’ve Earned A Sticker

I’ve started using my delay function on the washing machine. Before I go to bed at night, I get a load of washing ready to go, and then it’s freshly washed by about 6.30am and I can hang it on the line before my almost-2-year-old gets out of bed.

August Habit #19 Laundry Tip Occurred By Accident

I got really tired of all the drama around “where is my blue shirt” or “why don’t I have any clean socks”.

August Habit #18 One That Was A Lifesaver

August Habit #17 My Biggest Challenge

August Habit #16 My Control Journal My Laundry Days

I always had a problem with laundry but one day I had a Ah ha moment. I bought some of the fold up kind of baskets they don’t take up as much floor space. I have one for whites and one for colored clothes. Okay, that solved the sorting problem.

August Habit #14 Remind Myself Of BabySteps

I have been fluttering for about 5 years now. Some things are in order but other parts of my life/house are still in chaos. I remind myself to take babysteps and whatever I can accomplish is better than nothing. I work a 60 hr week with a schedule that changes each week, so routines can be a challenge for me. But some of the routines are sticking.

August Habit #12 I’ve Modified The Habit

There are three of us in the family, so doing a load of laundry a day isn’t necessary. Here’s how I’ve modified your load-a-day habit to fit our laundry needs and help keep us in clean clothes that are put away.

I used to wait until I saw that we were running out of clean socks and undies to go down to the basement and sort and wash the laundry. That wasn’t really a very good way to do things as it meant doing 4 or 5 loads in a couple of days.
