We are big fans of these custom made ostrich feather dusters. We chose the size, the shape, the handle and the feathers (My kids and I "test drove" many models before we selected this one). A high-end feather duster makes "blessing your home" a breeze. I can now dust my entire home in less than 5 minutes (I timed it LOL).
The beauty of a good feather duster is that you can't do it wrong!! Grab it and start dusting it across your surfaces, pictures, lamps and the dust just comes with it. The reason that an ostrich feather duster works is because there are no oils in the feathers and they create a static charge along the really fine feather ends that grabs the dust and hangs on to it. You just brush the feathers back and forth, there is no right or wrong. When you are finished you take the duster outside and shake it briskly to get rid of the dust.

How do you clean a feather duster?
This is from one of our members: "I'm a newer flybaby (just over a month), so I don't know if you have covered this already, but I learned how to clean the dust out of my feather duster a few years back . . . you take it outside (and shut the door, because the dust is going to fly!), put the handle between your palms with the feathers facing away from you (in front of you), put your back to the wind (so the dust doesn't go in your face!), and roll the handle up and down between your palms rapidly as if you were trying to
warm your hands. The dust will start flying out of those feathers! The more energy you put into it, the cleaner it will be. =) "
