Marching Journey Down FlyLady Way!

Saturday is Family Fun Day as we march down FlyLady Way. I look at each page in my personal planner as a PODA page. Poda is a creature with feet if that will help you remember the term. PODA stands for Parade of Daily Adventures and I make every day a PODA. So when FlyLady asked me to conjure up fun for every Saturday in March I couldn't wait to think up some fun for you all. All I ask is that you look forward to having fun this Saturday and I suggest (and will remind you) you be sure to play music and take pictures.
This Saturday as we march down FlyLady Way we are going to celebrate the official House Fairy Let's Look Pitiful Just For Fun Day! Since we are marching, we need music, so let's make sure we turn on our tunes. Today, just for fun, plan a family outing to the park, to the zoo, the show or to eat out, visit a friend, hike in the woods; you pick out the event, but put this House Fairy twist on it. Each family member dress in clothes he or she has not worn in over a year. Dad, get up on the ladder and pull down that Rubbermaid container on the top shelf in your closet full of clothes you meant to go through last year and create an entire outfit for the outing. Mom, you know that dress you've been saving for when you lose a few pounds? Pour yourself into it and find some shoes you no longer wear to go with it. Kids, dump a drawer up-side-down and on the top of that pile, you'll find clothes you don't like any more and are also probably too tight. The important thing for the whole family to do is dress COMPLETELY in clothes that when you undress, they all go into a get-it-out-of-the-house container. It's a special time to put on that ratty shirt, torn underwear, holey socks, stained pants and ripped blouse, the bra that's missing a hook, the shirt that needs a button etc. The fun part will be to go out in public in your outfits, knowing that when the day is over, the clothes will be history. It will make a real impression on the whole family as you see and feel how absurd it is to store (hoard) clothing that you are not going to wear ever again. Hopefully your whole family will look pitiful! (A picture is worth a thousand words so don't forget to take one.) Make it fun and it will get done.
Every Saturday is Family Fun Time at FlyLady. So, today's mission
is going to incorporate the whole family. Grab the kids and let's
go through all those DVDs and movies lying around.
Are your children
now 15 but you still have a whole shelf of Barney movies just sitting
around? They could be blessing someone else! It's time for them to
go. Or, how about a shelf full of science fiction movies but everyone
in your house enjoys comedies?
You get the point. Lol. Set them free
and let them bless someone else. You are the band leader, direct your
band to have some fun with this.
