Today's Focus: DECISIONS & NEVER GIVING UP!
DECISIONS & NEVER GIVING UP!
When you are trying to lose weight and/or get fit, you come to
various key decision points that can literally make the difference
between success and failure. For example, the day after you blew
off your No Excuses Workout, or had 3 glasses of wine, or ate a whole
pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream (or did all 3), you can decide that
you have blown it and give up, or you can take that day as a new day
and get back on the horse.
Smaller decisions also play a role in helping or hurting your
chances of being successful. Do I have a 3rd cup of coffee or
should I start having water to get hydrated? Do I drive to the
store that is 4 blocks away or walk? Do I let the kids watch a DVD
or take them out in the yard and build a snowman? All these smaller
decisions can serve as steps in the right direction of our fitness
and weight loss goals.
So today, try to think about some of the choices you make and try to
focus on your health and making the best decisions possible.
Lastly, whatever you do, NEVER GIVE UP, STAY POSITIVE AND DON'T BEAT
YOURSELF UP OVER THE WEIGHT YOU HAVE GAINED, THE WORKOUTS YOU HAVE
MISSED, ETC. Life it too short and NONE OF US ARE PERFECT. Some of
you have heard on my radio show or on this group about throwing your
rearview mirror out the window of the car. Beating yourself up or
being negative about your weight or being out of shape is not going
to help you. Today is a new day, so GRAB IT, DO YOUR NO EXCUSES
WORKOUT, AND THEN BE PROUD OF YOURSELF.
Lastly, I wanted to send you all a great quote I received from my
Dad many years ago. It speaks to how decisions (even the small
ones) can literally be the difference between success and failure:
"Genius is only the power of making continuous efforts. The line
between success and failure is so fine... so fine that we might be
right on that line and not even know it.
As the tide goes out so must it come in... and in life sometimes
when things seem darkest... they might really be on the rise.
How many a man has thrown up his hands and said "I quit"... at a
time when, with a little more effort, just a little more patience...
he would have achieved success.
There is no defeat except in no longer trying. And there's no real
insurmountable obstacle except your own inherent weakness of
purpose. The only defeat is from within."
NEVER GIVE UP, Take babysteps, Avoid Making Excuses, STAY
POSITIVE, Be Proud of Yourself when you are done exercising, and HAVE
FUN!
Your mission for today is: to write down a list of the small decisions you can
change. Such as- not drinking that 3rd cup of coffee, walking to the store instead of driving, etc... When your list is finished, pick one thing off of your list and do it! Or don't do it as the case may be. Lol!
Dear Friends,
Not only do we put off making doctor/dentist appointments
for ourselves, we do it for our children too. So, in honor of
Anti-Procrastination Day today, we are going to call and schedule
those appointments for our children. Are your children up to date
on all their vaccinations? Have they had their teeth cleaned recently?
Whatever appointment you have procrastinated about making, now is
the time to do it!
