TODAY'S FITNESS MISSION: THE NO EXCUSES WORKOUT!

AVOIDING EXCUSES!
Are you making excuses for why you can't fit in your workouts and/or
eat well? Be honest with yourself. Are you?
If you answered yes, than I want you to start holding yourself
accountable and STOP MAKING EXCUSES! When you make excuses that
lead to missing workouts and/or not eating well, you end up feeling
bad about yourself and this has a negative impact on your energy and
overall well-being.
Let me tell you a quick story about NOT MAKING EXCUSES and
responding to life's inevitable set-backs:
Yesterday morning I went to the gym to do a 30 minute interval
workout. I got caught on a long call in the parking lot and
realized I could not do my full workout and still make it to the
office to do my BlogTalkRadio show. So I considered holding off on
my workout until later in the day (WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN USING "I AM
RUNNING LATE" AS MY EXCUSE). But I knew I had a busy day planned
and thought that if I didn't at least do something in the morning,
it was probably not going to happen later in the day.
So I decided to do 16 minutes of intervals - a 5 minute warm-up, 4
intervals of 3 minutes on and 1 minute off and then a quick cooldown.
When I got in the locker room (prior to doing my workout), there was
a huge sign that said "NO HOT WATER" and again, I considered using
this as my excuse not to workout. But I said, "that is life" and
decided that the energy I would get out of a quick workout would be
worth taking a freezing cold shower.
I did my quick workout and was happy to see the water problem was
fixed by the time I went to shower. Yes, I was rushing to the
office like a mad man, but I FELT GREAT after doing my intervals.
My point of telling you this story is that we are each presented
with numerous EXCUSES that we can use every day to get out of our
workouts and/or to eat poorly. BUT YOU HAVE TO FOCUS ON WHAT MAKING
HEALTHY CHOICES DOES FOR YOUR ENERGY AND HEALTH!
So today, when you are at that critical decision point of either
using an EXCUSE or NOT MAKING EXCUSES, choose the healthy option and
be proud of yourself when you are done.
YOUR HEALTH IS TOO IMPORTANT TO LET SMALL SET-BACKS KEEP YOU FROM
REACHING YOUR GOALS!
