Weirdest Items Flung - Part 3
This is one of our favorite parts of the Super Fling Boogie: posting the weirdest items Flung (and in some cases, found). In the past, items such as pregnancy tests (positive and negative), dead goldfish frozen in the freezers awaiting funerals, rusty cars and car bits, dead plants, 90 pounds of aluminum cans, broken appliances, appliances without cords, just the cords, stuffed critters, 20 year old kid school projects and more have entertained and inspired us. It is amazing, the number of people who go through the weirdest item list only to realize they have "one of those" someplace in the attic or hiding in the basement. Have fun flinging and enjoy the list (remember - only 15 minutes at a time - this list will keep getting longer)! Keep those weird items rolling in (and don't forget to say where you are from)! - FlyCrew
- Jordan Almonds wrapped in tulle and placed in miniature plastic top hats. These were leftover favors from my wedding 11 YEARS AGO!! (I tried to eat one, lol - hard as a rock!!)

- I know this may not sound as weird as others but the weirdest thig I flung was a pregnancy belt. I bought it when I was pregnant with my twins who are now 3. It's meant to help hold up a rather large and heavy belly. It never did work well...
- My husband's 1974 "JohnnyCarson" brand polyester double knit, 3 piece suit! (35 pounds ago!) What does he need THAT for???
AND 47 fingernails that I "grew and collected", (before the age of nail extensions), when I was 17!!! (I am 52!)...LOL x 3!...

- yay! so far today I have gotten rid of a ton of old
papers, cards, bills, invoices, old e-mail's, old
letters, a scrapbooking tote (outer holder.) a
pregnancy stick from a past pregnancy, a old christmas
decoration that is falling apart, old cardstock and
papers that were ruined from the moisture from sitting
in our garage. Also old soap bars, shampoos from the
hospital after having one of my children. and
yesterday I threw away an old music box from when I
was young. I was going to keep it for my daughter but
then decided I could probably find a nicer one when
she gets older, that actually doesn't have pen writing
on the top.. -30 pounds of clutter- gone!
thank you flylady and crew!

- I just tossed the love letters from the couple we bought the
house from...3 houses ago! They must have left them in
"storage" and when we moved and moved, the letters got moved
with us. It's amazing what's stored in my basement!

- Flylady,
I am the 13 yo dd of a flybaby. We had a day off of school so my mom asked me to do a 10 minute mission in my room and “fling” some stuff. I organized my closet, got rid of some old clothes, and I thought I was done when I remembered a shelf on top of my closet. After taking down the extra blankets and other random junk, I found some old school papers and a thank you note from one of my friends. This doesn’t sound so bad, but the thank you motw was from her 5th birthday party, and the papers were from kindergarten! Now that I’ve started I just can’t stop flinging!

- We lived in England several years ago. When Princess Diana died I saved all of the newspapers regarding her death, funeral, etc. Two countries and several years later there they were on the top shelf of my coat closet. Not any more. Twelve pounds of old british newspapers have been flung!

- Good Morning!
On my fling through the Medicine Cabinet I flung 2 pairs of contact lenses all dried up in cases and 2 lenses still in their original containers that expired 10/02!
Thanks Fly Lady and Crew

- Dear Flylady & Crew,
I had to laugh yesterday after sitting and reading all the 'weirdest items' list. Reading through, I thought how strange so much of the stuff was and why would anyone hold onto that? Well, needless to say, after finishing I got up to do a 27-fling boogie in my bathroom & bedroom and what did I find? 5 packages of birth control pills. That wouldn't be so weird except I've been off the pill since March, they expired in September, and funniest of all, I am now 4 months pregnant!! Don't think I'll be needing them for a while! Here I thought I'd been doing such an amazing job decluttering - how could I overlook something like that for 10 months (and through the last Super Fling)? If I hadn't found you, I bet they'd have still been around 20 years from now.
Just tells you, don't get too smug, we really do all have something "weird" waiting for us to get rid of!
Thanks so much for everything, I love you all.

- My sister's and my umbilical cords... yuck! We're 27 and 29, and my mom had kept them in a tiny kind of pill case, along with many many many other things back when we were babies (shoes, socks, bikinis, toys, etc.). We come from a family history of clutter... I will someday write a testimonial! Thank you Flylady and God bless you!

FLYing and flinging in FL
- Weirdest items flung.....I finally got to the top shelf in my closet, of boxes of stuff that had been stashed 2 xmases ago......
I found an Old tupperware catalog (from when my mom visted last 2 yrs ago she was visiting when I was decluttering the other day)
Old Dried Cracker Pieces
1/2 of a broken bamboo thongs from Pampered Chef
I'm sure there is more to come as I continue decluttering readying to move!
FlyBaby still after 5 yrs
- I finally parted with a baby stroller (large enough
for two) that I rode in with my brother when we lived
in Germany 30 years ago. I was saving it so I could
get it refinished (rust removed, bright orange and
blue plaid with dayglo orange fur trimmed liners) so I
could use it with my own babies. My parents kept it
through numerous military moves for the first 18
years, then I kept it through at LEAST one move per
year for the next 12. I finally realized I would
never refinish and use it because it was so heavy and
it would actually be a danger to any child that came
near it.

- Hi Flycrew,
I have flung my gallstones. Yes, I had a plastic box with the "souvenirs" from hospital in the closet for almost three years now but finally I realised that there is no sense in keeping them.
A Flybaby from Germany
- Dear Flycrew,
About 5-6 years ago one of my dd (7 at the time) gave me a lavender eye pillow for Mothers’ Day. This was a particularly thoughtful gift as I tend to get migraines. Now this was pre-flylady days so I tucked it away for special as I didn’t want to use it up (?). Well, a few days ago I came across some little bugs in my vanity drawer and tracked them down to the lavender eye-pillow. Into the bin, the drawer sprayed with bug killer and a few other things like toothpaste and cotton balls were also thrown out as they too had got infested.
How sad that a gift given with such love was used only once and then "saved" because of my "stinkin thinkin". I hope that I’ve finally learnt from this. You’ve certainly done your best to teach me.

- I flung a half-empty IV drip bag and related hardware that we used to hydrate the kitten when she had to undergo surgery over a month ago and was recovering at home. I didn't know whether it could be "finished" and I kept forgetting to ask. Also I found several syringes (unopened) that were in my pencil holder, and another fresh IV set. After a couple of weeks, I stopped seeing these things even though the IV bag was hanging right on the knob on my computer armoire's door! Yesterday I asked and found out it is trash, and out it went! Now my office doesn't look like a pet hospital anymore.
- My husband baught an old video arcade at a scout auction for 8$...6 years ago. He played it for a year and then it broke. We actually moved a broken arcade unit into our house four years ago because he thought "I'll fix it and then we can play old arcade games". It has taken me four years to convince him that we will never fix it.
IT"S GONE!!!! Thank You Flylady...it was you who finally convinced him to fling!
Flying on new wings in Winnipeg
- Okay, here's one for the weird fling list. I graduated from college in the mid 1970's. While in college, I was on the color guard, part of the rifle corp (we twirled wooden rifles at football halftime shows etc). There was a metal piece which attached to the rifle, which was supposed to look like the bolt part. We would take the piece off during practice, so that we would not cut our hands on the metal.
This week, while cleaning out what the DS's call the "junk drawer", I found the metal bolt-piece for the wooden rifle I twirled in college! That little piece of metal has been relegated to the dump!

- Flycrew,
We moved into our house several months ago. Even though we gave it a good cleaning before moving in, while I was going through the bathroom cabinet under the sink looking for things to fling, I spotted a very small plastic baggie that was hidden behind the drainpipe. What was inside was written on the outside so I did not bother to open it. It was the former owner's deceased wife's gold tooth! The date said 2002. I was going to toss it but DH took it to a guy at the flea market who buys gold and got $8 for it!
Flapping in NC and helping a friend fling this week
- Dear fly crew,
I love this. I have only been a flybaby for about 6 weeks but am having so much fun. In the last 4 days I have flung 327lbs and have much more to go. How long does this supper fling last???? I have gotten so many "How to clean" books and my 13 year old DS and I lauphed so hard when I flung 1/2 a box of books on how to clean. LOL I guess I learned a better way.
