Now, that my kitchen is clean. I am having fun cooking / baking / trying out some new dishes. I have to say with the help of the internet I can curb my temptations for a favorite dish at a restaurant by finding the recipe online; then making it for far less than it would cost to go out to dinner.

As I have been checking out the internet for ideas. Some recipes call for the use of kitchen gadgets like a blender / food processor. I am wondering can owning a blender save you money in the long run? I am really curious. I need to go to Goodwill to purchase a new toaster. I have to say that I am tempted to think about maybe getting a blender too (at some point in time. I know this from my experience with the food processor I never really found it that useful. So, I am wondering can it help to save you money. I have to say that I know one person used a blender to make Chicken Enchilada sauce & Chicken Mole. Two dishes that I would love to learn how to make. After all, who can resist any dish that has chocolate in it.

Many years ago I got my first food processor at our local Humane Society. I think I payed $5.00 for it. Let’s just say I got my money’s worth out of it. I wore it out! After it died I put a KitchenAide Food Processor on my Christmas List. I got one and I love it.

While you are at Goodwill see if you can find an old stand mixer. That is another tool that I use often. I love that I can turn it on and clean while it is running. Some of the older ones are a workhorse. My mother in law had one that was over 30 years old. I think it was a Sunbeam.

I think a blender is a great idea. Not only will it make sauces smooth but it will make smoothies and festive drinks.

Menu planning is the fastest way to get rid of stress and to save money. Just a few home cooked meals a week will put more money in your pocketbook.
