I have some vintage costume jewelry that I never wear but love to display on my dresser.  I love things that glitter and sparkle.  Well, they haven’t done either in a while from the accumulation of dust on my dresser (which I just cleaned and dusted – Thank-you, FlyLady).

These items can’t be cleaned with any products you might use on other types of jewelry, so I looked online.  All the talk about baby toothbrushes to lightly brush and soft rags to polish – no water, not even vinegar.  Oh, brother, this is going to be a project that will get postponed indefinitely!  Then, Eureka!! I thought, what about those magic purple rags I love?  I used the smooth side, barely dampened, and WOW!!!!, you would NOT believe the results!!

Now, not only do they sparkle, glitter and shine, but when the sun hits them in the morning there are a million little rainbows all over my bedroom!!  What a way to start the day!

If I need to use a soft brush, I will use the Rubba Scrubba!  Also, although I wouldn’t recommend it, I have washed the purple rags in hot, hot water, bleached them, dried them in the dryer (all by accident, of course) and they still work fantastic, they’re just a little smaller, LOL.
