To pamper myself, I light candles every day when I am getting dressed down to my shoes. If I need to get ready in a hurry, I will light three tea lights. If I have more time or know I will be spending extra time to blow dry/style my hair or do a mani/pedi, I will light three scented votives because they burn longer.

It doesn’t cost much to do this. I buy 100 tea lights for $3.99. Since I only light three candles and reuse the same ones for 3-4 days, this bag of tealights lasts for at least 3-4 months. Since I use votives when I have more time, this extends the life of the bag. Votives can burn for around 15 hours so this would last me about 2 weeks if I used them every day.

Lighting the candles when I am getting dressed down to my shoes does
several things for me:

1. It forces me to completely finish getting ready including hair and makeup before I blow out the candles and head downstairs to start the day.

2. It soothes my mind and refreshes my spirit to start the day with the dancing candles and sweet aromas. I feel like I am getting ready in a spa even on a busy day.

3. It makes the process of getting dressed down to my shoes enjoyable. As you always say, make it fun and it will get done!
