Dear FlyLady,
I found three small plastic buckets at a “dollar store”. They nest together, which is their usual state. I use them as a waste basket at my desk. But, when I am decluttering paper, I unstack them and use them as “trash, recycle, shred” buckets. When I am finished going through the papers, I take care of the contents, clean the buckets of dust or whatever, and restack.
I keep my paper shredder in my utility room. It’s easier to clean up the mess that always happens when you empty the basket. I also have a small chair so I can sit and shred.
Another idea that’s related to paper and the holidays deals with all those catalogs. I look at the catalog while having my morning coffee break. I tear out the pages that have interesting gift ideas and toss the rest of the catalog. The pages go into an idea folder. When it gets closer to actual buying time, I can look through those papers again, check out the internet and then develop my list.
Flying in OK…
Liz
