I was a loving myself FlyBaby 8 years ago. Then, I went through a divorce, dragged three kids through 5 moves and 4 schools in 3 years while working 2 and 3 jobs. I went into survival mode and FLYing was forgotten.
Life became stable when I began loving myself three years ago. I’ve met and married a wonderful man and signed up for the emails at Christmas to begin afresh FLYing.
We have a tiny home that was built in 1901 (i.e. no closets, kitchen cabinets, etc.) that was affordable. Our bedroom looks more like a battle of the consignment shops than a place of refuge and peace. Every time, I enter to start cleaning, i end up in tears on the bed feeling completely overwhelmed.
I had an epiphany this morning – I don’t have to do it all at once. Yes, you say that daily but I just didn’t internalize the message. I stood in the doorway and decided that I would concentrate on the object most visible form the doorway. (I’ve been making my bed consistently). I decided that I would devote 5 minutes a day to the dresser doing all that needs to be done while we are in this zone. I will continue to do the blessings suggested in the daily emails but will not beat myself up over how much is still waiting to be done. I will do what I can in 5 minutes a day. When we move to the next zone, I will walk away from it until next month.
I feel like a mountain has been lifted! I know it sounds silly since this is what you have been teaching! In just 5 minutes, I took care of everything on top of the dresser – put things away (even in other rooms), put dirty items in hamper, tossed trash, and dusted. An immediate difference. Tomorrow, I will go through the top drawer and decides what continues to bless and what needs to bless elsewhere!
