Dear Flylady,

I’ve been working through some “gratitude” and realized when another testimonial came out about thanking Flylady and that no matter how many times I send in a testimonial, it will never be enough times.

What’s changed?  Clean clothes. Home cooked meals on the table – with the ability to throw together anything (stocked spices, fresh herbs and staples). Less clutter everywhere. Finances in better shape.  With things having a home, less searching for stuff.  Do you know, I don’t lose my keys any more.  I once retraced my steps to find my wallet to find it wasn’t at the school, or any of the dozen other places I looked (it was at home).  I didn’t used to run out of gas, but now none of the cars do. Updated insurance cards in the cars too… We even have one car (out of 4) in the garage.

More time to crochet, quilt, work out, learn to play the piano again, travel, flower decorating, what have you.  Yes my kids are older now – when I started my youngest was only a year old, now she’s learning to drive.  My oldest moaned that she wished I’d started sooner with Flylady and how everything else changed when we started following Flylady.

I love the new carpet sweeper.  We own dozens of miracle rags and many rubba scrubbas. And many other tools…like shopping bags.  Goodwill stores so much more for me now…

I get to decorate for all of the holidays and enjoy the change of scenery. I constantly change decorations on my dining room table and I have such fun with it.  My counters aren’t covered in dirty dishes. Everyone knows when the dishwasher is a dirty dishkeeper (I announce it loudly). Is everything perfect?  Ha, ha, ha – yeah no.  I’m close enough to company ready at all times – it used to be more cluttered and messy and we’d still have lots of people over but I’d feel bad.  Now it looks pretty decent at any time so that I wouldn’t be ashamed to have anyone over.

Sure, I could probably declutter another 9 tons, but the first 9 over that first 10 years made the biggest difference. And my to-do list is only 24 items long instead of a legal pad in 3 columns… I love anti-procrastination days!  Good news – they come every week!!

A couple weekends ago I reorganized my spice cabinet – wow – it was awesome.  Now I know what I have – have stored the extras in another decluttered cabinet and its so fun to cook because I can find things. And tossed some that were not appetizing any more as well as some jam that was past enjoying.

Total peace – getting there. I even have time to meditate.

I just wouldn’t go back. In fact, it would be hard to…
