Oh, isn’t it lovely to have the opposite experience to someone else and still be grateful for their testimonial yet also be grateful for my own?

Hers was to drop a drawer of makeup and clear it up immediately and be glad to have done so.

Mine was to have bought a new pair of curtains and in the process of putting them up the curtain rod broke.

I was already very tired from an extra long walk i had had that day plus other things that went wrong.

I left the things where they were and went to bed as I needed to do. Its a matter of priorities. It wasn’t long before i was asleep despite the late afternoon time. When I woke I dreaded tidying up. When I tidied up the accident was not as bad as i feared and it got done in seconds.

I was grateful for the recovery sleep and the ease of the job and overall, that day, knew I’d done it all “right”.

Maybe another day I will do it differently and tidy up immediately.

It was good to have gained permission to do I needed to do and to look after ME. I’m good at looking after others especially my mother.
She didn’t get a visit either. Normally I would visit regardless of whether I wanted to or not as well.

She isn’t a particularly “grateful” person and i didn’t make things worse by visiting.

Thank you Flylady. You’re doing a very good job. You’ve got through to me better than anyone else has managed and I AM grateful.
It makes a difference. You make a difference.
