Dear FLylady,

I have been following you for several years. I’m not “P”, but the morning and evening routines and regular decluttering keep chaos away.

I want to tell you about my flydog.  My sink is nearly always empty and shiny. During the day, dishes go into a pan under the sink. When making dinner in the evening, the dishes go into hot sudsy water to soak while we eat. Many times, I felt too tired to do them and clean up the kitchen. Then, of course, the mess faced me In the morning.

A few years ago we adopted an older dog from the shelter. Since she is always hungry, she was under my feet whenever I was working in the kitchen. As a way to teach her basic commands, I started having her sit and stay at the end of the counter. She learned it well. She was out of my way, and she got several treats.

However, now immediately after dinner, she pesters me until I go the  kitchen and begin the cleanup. No more postponing the dishes. My dog won’t let me.
