Dear FlyLady,

My house has been a struggle for years. My biggest excuse has been having 4 kids back to back and then babysitting two extra kids on top of that! I always kept the house sanitized, but finding time to declutter or get that deep cleaning it so desperately needed was almost impossible.

A friend from my homeschool group invited me to The Flylady Facebook page and we have been following the CHAOS to Clean book daily. My house hasn’t looked this good since before I had kids! We have decluttered every room in the house plus our laundry. We used to have three rolling hampers (each had 3 hanging bags in them) and they were filled to the brim. I’m so on top of laundry now, we barely fill one hamper!

My kids and I have even made up a game to clean the entire house in almost 15 minutes. For every 20 items they pick up (this includes tiny pieces of trash, laundry, toys, and craft pieces) they get a ticket. Tickets can then be turned in for a prize or 5 minutes of game time. If there’s not enough in the house to clean up, they move outside to pick up sticks and yard toys, or we go to the vehicles.

I still have work to do in the bedrooms, but if I were to have an unexpected visitor walk in right now, I wouldn’t be ashamed. Thank you so much for your system!
