FlyLady & Crew,

I am sorry to have to bother you, but I am a little confused about declutter. Are we supposed to do this in the current zone, or will there be another area to declutter? I did get the email about decluttering our purses. Should I look for another email like that, or just fling in the current zone? Thanks in advance for clarifying! (And you probably already have, and I missed it.) Thanks!

Dear Hannah,

In honor of the Grand Opening for our local Habitat for Humanity Re-Store; Let’s declutter and bless others with our abundance.

This week we are in Zone 3; You are welcome to declutter other areas if you have already spent 15 minutes in the zone we are in. You have to be dressed to shoes.

It is also good to know what you are fixing for dinner because we can hyper-focus. Get your slow cookers going! We are fixing a Roast Chicken, mashed potatoes and corn.

If we will make it fun we will get it done. This is why we play games. Put on some peppy music and set your timer! Even though we are focusing on one room each week. When you declutter only look at one small area at a time. One table, one drawer, one shelf in a cabinet. Don’t pull out more than you can put back in one hour.

Have three boxes by your side or our Declutter Kit. Give away, Put away and Throw away. When the timer goes off but the trash where it goes, take the give-away stuff the car and then put things that belong in other rooms where they go. If those areas are cluttered too then just get them corralled in the general area. Don’t start decluttering there and get sidetracked. If you do, you will likely pull out more than you can put back in an hour.
