Saturday is Family Fun Day

p212448_m_mod1Dear FlyLady,

It’s been many years since I joined FlyLady, but it’s not until now that I have a 3 year old and 17 month old that it’s finally clicking for me. I’ve realized the importance of having routines specially when you have two set of little eyes always watching and learning.

One of our major problems is not putting things back where they belong, but for the past few weeks we’ve been putting our shoes and coats, my purse and keys where they belong. This afternoon my dear husband, out of the blue came into the kitchen and told the children if they wanted to go to eat pizza and play at the arcade for kids.

My 17 month old daughter screamed with delight. She quickly ran to the coat closet and grabbed her own shoes, put them on and came back to me with a pair of shoes for me! I was thanking her for the gesture but then she noticed I already had my own shoes on and went back to the closet to put my shoes in back in the rack. My son went and got his shoes and coat also. We were ready to go in less than 10 minutes. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed a spur of the moment family evening.

I still have a looong way to go, but routines are finding a way in my home and I get even more motivated when I see my children knowing what to do even without having to tell them directly. They are watching. We would not have had this fun day without you. Thank you for bringing back spontaneity back in our lives.

Sincerly,
Celina
