Dear FlyLady,

Last Sunday, our neighbor’s house burned down. The next evening we were talking about all the ways a fire can start in a home, and I got up and grabbed my Flylady dryer kit and went to work. It had been far too long since I had used it and gosh was the lint ever packed in there. I found a dollar bill, a key chain, and a dime!

Two hours later, with my husband helping too, we had our entire system cleaned out all the way to the outside. Lots of lint in that tube!

I once experienced a dryer fire and even though it was caught early, it was still devastating.

Another thing I learned from my Daddy, who was a volunteer fireman, was to put blocks behind bed and dresser legs, so they can’t be pushed tight up against a plug and cord coming out from the wall.
