Dear FlyLady,
I have 2 large water bottles & 2 on the way. I was addicted to using bottled water. I loved pulling a bottle out of the coldest part of the fridge & taking a big drink. Afterwards I’d carry it around, set it down & within 30 minutes it was warm. Often I’d refrigerate again but many times I’d just refill the dog dishes with the remaining water $$$$. You cannot fathom the number of half full water bottles that would collect on every hot spot in the house. There are only two of us but it added up.
The money I am saving will add up too. No more collecting plastic bottles when cleaning, no more sorting for the recycle bin or worse, the trash. No more bottles kicking around the floor of the car. Just one p****ct stainless steel wonder has decluttered my life in a big way. My greatest joy is the cold ice water I get to drink. My 1st test of how long the ice kept was just over 24hrs. I wake up in the night & need a cold drink. Prior to obtaining my FlyLady bottles my most recent attempt at having cold water was filling a 32oz cup full of crushed ice so that I could have the melted ice to drink. I had to deal with the sweating on the outside of a cup of melting ice (protect surfaces), deal with a huge glass of warm water in the morning, all the little things that add up to more clutter & hassle. I also tried freezing nearly full water bottles for My initial instinct about wanting a bigger bottle was like other emails I’ve read. Then I realized the wisdom in keeping it a manageable size for cup holders, my purse, it’s sleek & children can easily hold it. What’s fabulous is that the ice remains just waiting for more water to be poured in, that’s the opposite of other beverage holders. The ice is always the first to go. So thank you very much.
