I am writing to sing the praises of the FlyLady Purple Rags in a Bag. I have about 5 sets… I have turned all my neighbors on to them…including my generally skeptical mom(and dad)!  We all love that we can clean our homes with very little chemicals, and leave no streaks.

The AH HA moment came this weekend. Let me back up first. Last week, I sent my daughter and her friend to the car while I was waiting for my other daughter at soccer practice-it had started to downpour.  While in the car, the girls decided to clean it for me……with SUNSCREEN! Yes, you read that right, SUNSCREEN.  The aerosol kind…Oh it smelled…..I was mad at first but a quick glance around told me there was nothing to worry about. They did it in good faith and just wanted to help me bless my car.

FINALLY the sun came out on Saturday and I noticed that there was a dull film all over my hood, all down the side of my van and across the back…as though someone had scrubbed it with something-SUNSCREEN….I licked my finger to assure myself that it would come right off in the car wash and to my horror, the film came right back. I was in a panic now at this point.

I drove home, counting to 10 over and over and over again……got out my car wash soap and a Dobie pad and went to work. After I was done, I dried off the van and lo and behold…the film came right back as though the soap and Dobie hadn’t done a thing!!! OH NO!!! I realize that certain chemicals can wreak havoc on the clear coat of the vehicles-even ruin the finish completely…Imagine my sadness. Yes, it is just a car, but I take pride in my things and try to keep them nice so they last as long as possible.

Anyway-I dried it with your purple rags in a bag and as I was drying, I realized that it was working to get the film off my car…..Do you know that all it took was about an hour of elbow grease and a darn damp purple rag!!!!! It’s all off…and that was the only thing that worked!!!!
