Dear FlyLady and Crew,

I just have to share what happened in my kitchen.  The kitchen that has had a sticky floor for well over a week. The kitchen that hasn’t seen a shiny sink in quite some time.  The kitchen with the ceramic tile and horrid grout.  I watched a video of Marla mopping the floor with her FlyLady mop and my just turned 4 year old was sitting in my lap.

I then went to find my dust mop that is similar to the one she uses in the video.  Before I knew it, my daughter came to the kitchen with that dust mop and it was already wet.  She said, “Help me make this “childwen sized” and then she proceeded to twist the handle and make it shorter just like Marla did in the video when she showed that you could make it child-sized for your little helpers.

As she mopped the kitchen she had the complete commentary from Marla.  She told me it wasn’t hard and see how all the sticky stuff was coming up.  Then she picked it up and showed me the grime and gunk she had mopped up.  “Now winse it like in the movie.”  So after that, I was inspired by both the FlyLady and my baby and I finished loading the dishwasher, shined the sink and finished up the mopping.  I bet I wasn’t in the kitchen more than 15 minutes total and what a difference it made.  Thanks for making housework fun and simple.
