One Day at a Time

Dear FlyLady,

I began using the FlyLady techniques in April 2009. At that time my life was living in total chaos. But each day I chipped away at how to rebuild a life living on my own, thanks to FlyLady. I took the Control Journal and made it mine. Everything I needed to do in order to keep my house clean was in that 3 ring binder. I became so good at knowing what was on my list and when to do it, that the 3 ring binder was shelved.  Yet the routines stayed.

In September 2016, I suffered a severe closed head traumatic brain injury by falling head first into a metal door. It’s been a long hard road of recovery, which I have had several friends helping me out.  But the hardest question to answer was “Is there anything I can do for you?”  I didn’t know how to answer, because I literally did not know what I needed help with.

Today I was struggling with how to clean my house without having to rely on friends or family. As I was replacing the ink in my printer, I saw a notebook on the shelf that I did not recognize. Remember that 3 ring binder that I shelved many years ago?  Well, it was right there waiting for me today. I opened it up and noticed that the person I once was, is no longer. The organization of the book was so overwhelming, yet so very easy to understand.

I want to thank you FlyLady, as the Control Journal that was created back in 2009, will help me move forward in my concussion rehabilitation. At least I’ll be able to look at the notebook, and know exactly what needs to be done and when.

Thank you again,
Jean N.
