Getting a Good Start to Your Day

Dear Friends,

Every day I hear someone whine about not being able to do their Before Bed Routine. You have just entered the No Whining Zone! If there is something standing in the way of the most important routine of your day then we are going to figure out why and how to fix it. I discussed this big time on my Facebook Live Show yesterday. You can still watch it on our website Day 28.

I am too tired, I just want to go to bed. This is one I hear all the time. Your Before Bed Routine can start as soon as you get home. You don’t have to wait until bedtime when you are exhausted.

Your Before Bed Routines consists of three sections: Think about tomorrow, pick up and put away, and Taking care of you.

Think about tomorrow. As soon as you get home start thinking about tomorrow by putting items on on your launch pad and checking the calendar to see what is happening. Add items to the calendar that have come in with the children. This is a big part of your Before Bed Routine.

When you take off your dress clothes; is a prime time to pick out your clothes for tomorrow. Glance at your calendar and the weather then just put them on a hook. The hardest part is done! You made a decision. This is going to make your morning run smoothly.

Pick Up and Put Away. One of the reasons we are exhausted in the evening is we trash our kitchen while we are cooking. Don’t do this. Start with a sink full of hot soapy water and an empty dishwasher. Clean and pick up after yourself as you cook. It will make it so easy to get out of the kitchen after dinner with your sink shining!

Hot spots tend to pile up during the day too. A simple 2 minute pick up and put away will make the house look great when you get up in the morning. You will be so surprised! The best part is you will not feel overwhelmed before your day starts.

Taking Care of You.  The first thing is establish a bedtime. You need to get 7-8 hours of sleep. You know what time you need to get up! Subtract 8 hours from your alarm time and you will have your bedtime.  An hour before your bedtime start getting yourself ready for bed. Turn off the computer, charge your phone, and get your teeth brushed and flossed. Take your medications and head off to bed.  Getting 8 hours of sleep is going to do more you than anything in your before bed routine. You will wake up refreshed and ready for your day!

Now you can see that your Before Bed Routine doesn’t take lots of time when you spread it out. Babystep your Before Bed Routine.
