Dear FlyLady,
I just wanted to write a quick thank you! I have been FLYing for a few months now and I am slowly getting the CHAOS under control. It has been a very stressful time for my family as my father has been very sick for the last 7 months and we just found out he needs a heart transplant. I have two small children, and work full time. I started FLYing in the middle of all this and I wasn’t sure if it would stick as there has been so much going on. Not only has it stuck, but it takes away a bunch of the stress.I’m finally letting the perfectionism go (this is my hardest task!) and allowing my oldest child (4) to get more involved with housework. She loves to set the timer and “race” to get a task done to see if she can beat the timer!
What really made me realize how much of a difference there is, was today’s zone task, going through the Tupperware. I couldn’t remember the last time I’ve done this. I get prepped up, set the timer, open the cabinet, and it took 2 minutes! Why? As I’ve been putting it away, I started matching and stacking it. It was already done. I just had to stack a few things and get rid of extra lids. Wow. I spent the rest of the time straightening my pots and pans and finally attacked the dreaded “junk drawer”, which I have been putting off as I knew it would take forever. Not only did I clean it out, but put all the random things that wasn’t junk where they belong. All of this was achieved in 15 minutes.
I just can’t stress how thankful I am. Who knew 15 minutes could make such a huge difference?
