Dear FlyLady,
The sink is a little cleaner than yesterday. We have very hard water, and it takes a lot of fingernail scrubbing to get off calcium deposits. I’m making progress, which is more important than having a perfectly shining sink. I get why you want us to make this huge improvement on Day 1, but I just cannot do it. In your message, you ask “Why are you even reading this message,” if the sink hasn’t been shined. I am trying your methods, and modifying them to fit my abilities. Just getting off the grime is an improvement, and I must worry about the bleach and hot water soak another day.
I think working on the routines, including cleaning the sink as well as I can, is an incredibly good first step for me, as I have been hypothyroid with major depression for 23 years. The gentle messages of Finally Loving Yourself are very helpful for me now.
