Dear FlyLady,
I have been menu planning for about 4 years now. It started for us when we started budgeting (after attending a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University). We learned groceries was our highest and most unpredictable expense. To get it under control, every two weeks I inventory our kitchen refrigerator, freezer, & pantry. Then I menu plan based on what I already have, look at sale papers and use Pinterest.
When using Pinterest, I simply put in ingredients I have (or am buying on sale) and see what recipes it pulls up. If I find one I want to use, I save it to a board called “grocery shopping”. Every two weeks I clean out that board, or remove them as I go and start over. This process has saved me quite a bit of time not to mention a lot of money!
Sincerely,
Tracy
