Dear FlyLady,

I got in the habit of swishing and swiping several years ago when it was the habit for the month. Until recently, it’s just been a matter of hygiene and something that makes me feel in control.

Then, last January, I came down with some sort of stomach virus that knocked me off my feet one Thursday evening. As I rushed to the bathroom and bent over the toilet, I remember thinking: “Hmm, this toilet smells amazing.” Strange thought for sure, but true nonetheless.

Thanks to a great S&S habit, I was able to be sick in relative comfort. And because the toilet was already clean, clean up was a breeze too.

To any readers out there who are doubtful about swishing and swiping, please give it a try. It really doesn’t take long at all and is well worth the effort.

Once you’ve been doing it regularly, you can do it in no time flat.
