I want to thank you for giving me the courage to mop my kitchen floor.

I am a brand new FlyBaby–I’m only on day 3, but you’ve already changed my life!

I had come across your website many times over the years, but had never followed through with becoming a FlyBaby until now. It was a little blip I read on your website that said the reason I was living in this CHAOS was because I was a perfectionist. I had never thought of it that way, but it is so completely right! You’ve given me the courage to accept that and to make the necessary changes in my life so I can stop living in this chaos.

Because of my perfectionist attitude, my floors never get mopped. I always say I need to mop them, but somehow I never do. You see, the reason I never get the kitchen floor mopped is because I can’t mop the floors when the counters are a mess. That would just be crazy! How can you mop floors when you have messy counters? If you mop the floors before you clean the counters, you’ll just get crumbs all over the floor, so you MUST clean the counters before you can mop the floors. It’s a viscous cycle I got myself stuck in. My counters were never clean, so of course my floors never got mopped. Well yesterday all that changed! I mopped my floors! My kitchen counters are still cluttered, but I’ll get there – 15 minutes at a time. I know it sounds crazy, but it was so freeing to just mop those floors. I can do this! I will do this!

I’ve got a shiny sink, a sparkling kitchen floor, and a brand new attitude. Thank you FlyLady. Thank you for giving me the courage to mop my floors!
