It Was Spirit Day

 Dear FlyLady,

Last year, my DD came home from school to let me know that Friday was Spirit Day. Typically she tells me the morning of Spirit day and then I scramble to try and figure something out. One year she told me the night before when it was time for her nighttime routine which requires picking out the next days clothes. Usually it wasn’t a great costume, although last time I was thankful for a few hours to think.

I told her to talk with her dad, as I was leaving for work and wouldn’t have time to “create” a costume. Well on Tuesday I checked with her dad if they had created a costume. He said he knew nothing of it. Tuesday night, DD, hubby and I talked about what her costume should be like. I spent Wednesday looking around the house for the items that I might have to make it work. It was nice to have time to plan it. Thursday during errand day, while out I stopped at two stores to pick up the items that I needed during my lunch hour. It was nice to come home from work and help daughter see her costume for Spirit day.

This morning we got up early enough to create 80’s big hair. The rest of the house was dark and asleep and yet I was able to move around and get the curling iron and hair spray without any lights ~~all because I put them in a place the night before that was logical.

Thank you FlyLady for suggesting the routines that made this morning a
delight. Daughter was thrilled with her costume, all because I was able to plan in advance. Because of my decluttering, I knew what I had AND could find them, which never used to happen.

Fluttering, but determined to fly soon,
Martha in NJ

routines and you follow them everyday.

Write them down and follow them until you do them automatically!

One of the most important part of your routines is using the calendar. Make it a point to write down all appointments, activities and anything special you might need to do or have. Then check the calendar every morning and every night.
