Dear FlyLady,

Thank you for making the Before Bed routine the focus this month.  I am a Payroll SHE with a DH, a DD (13) and two DS (9 and 6).  The before bed routine is a must when all of us need to be out the door by 8, the kids out for the bus by 7:30.

Before the kids go to bed, they place their “lunch orders” If they are taking a packed lunch, we set out the lunch box and add the juice box, the chips and the dessert. They then put a small sticky note on the top that says what sandwich they want, so I can make it in the morning.  Then I put the sticky note on the fridge door so they can reuse it.  The boys have an organizer in their closet that holds clothes for Monday thru Friday. We load this on Sunday afternoon, so we are good to go for a whole week!.

My DS (9) plays football and practices are in the early evening.  He comes home, takes a shower, and wants Mom to stay in the bathroom in case he needs help. So while I stood outside the shower I thought, why not do a swish and swipe in this bathroom right now?!  So four nights a week, I swish and swipe the kids bathroom, and it has made a huge difference!   So on the weekends, I only have the shower to clean.

I just want to say thank you for reminding me that I don’t have to clean my house in one giant, mad frenzy. I can have a clean house by doing small things everyday.

FLY Instead of Being a Grouch

Dear FlyLady,

I received my Rubba Package in the mail today and just wanted to tell you how absolutely thrilled I am with all of it especially your rubba sweepa.

I decided to try it out on my floor that is tiled with small grooves that always seem to leave behind my DK(dear kitties) litter on the floor no matter how many times I would sweep with my straw broom. Plus it would always seem to leave behind just a tiny bit of my DB (dear bunnys) well you get the idea. Today I tried it and wouldn’t you know that I actually danced, whooped for joy and would have embarrassed my DD (age 3) if she had been a teenager. It got up everything including the dust bunnies that never can find their way to the dust pan. NO more I am Flying with these tools.

I tried out your dish brush and got up the ick that was stuck to the bottom of a pot without having to scrub for awhile or what seems like hours.

I also tried out your rubba scrubba on the vent to our air conditioner and wow it got off all of the DB’s fur that had stuck to it in just a few swipes.

I have also gotten your Declutter Kit, Office in a Bag, and FlyLady Car Duster  and all have just made my life so much easier now I can pamper myself and get what I need to get done, done.

I am finally Learning to Love myself and FLY with these great products and tools to make life easier and not be such a grouch.
