What Else Can I Use Them On?

Dear Friend,

I know that’s how you address us so I thought I could call you the same 🙂

OK first of all, why is it that whenever I get an order from you I feel like I actually WANT to do some cleaning, just to see how they work? Did you get the house fairy to sprinkle some wanna-do-dust in the envelopes or something?

I’ve got one of the Rubba Scrubbas from before and I use it for so many things (hint for bathroom mats – wash them on a cool setting then scrub with the Rubba Scrubba to get the in-ground hair from there. They look like new again! And I’ve had them for 5 years! They also work to get bird droppings from cars, cat hair from embroidery and earth from carpets. Don’t ask me how I know the last!)

But these Purple Rags. I heard so much about them that at first I thought I’d try out a “regular” microfiber cloth from the market. It worked OK but it wasn’t all that so I hemmed and hawed a bit about getting yours, but I trust your quality. So I finally took the plunge and ordered them, another Rubba Scrubba and a Detail Duster.

First look, the Purple Rags look different from the market bought cloth. Not just cause of size and colour (gorgeous though they both are!) but because it’s not got loops, it’s smoother weave. I thought OK, let’s see what they actually work like. First I put them in the sink with some hot soapy water and watched it all turn purple, emptied the water and rubbed the sink dry. Hang on, where did all that water go? Usually it’s still wet no matter how much I dry! I squeeze it out… oh THERE it went! It’s incredible how much those things hold by the way!

Then I went on to the cooker. It’s a ceramic top one and of course EVERYTHING shows on it. Hey, whaddayaknow! A bit of washing up liquid that’s left from the first soak is enough to clean it! Hmm ok what else can I use it on? Oh, those tiles look a bit grungy. Not anymore! And the door to the flat… and ooh the wall next to it looks bad now… It was strange, I wasn’t looking at the time just going around seeing what I could try it on while the eggs were boiling.

Then, I spotted this little heart shaped silver jewelery box which I haven’t cleaned in years… not since I moved to England I think and that was close to 13 years ago now. I thought heck, why not give it a try? I was actually so surprised at the result when I’d done one part that I thought I’d take a picture of it. I attached it for your delectation and delight. This was not adding any more soap, and I noticed that I could actually see my reflection in it! At least… the part I’d rubbed was shining. You can see what it was like before on the part with the bow. NOT as nice. Just for fun I took the picture with the jewelery box on the cooker I’d just washed… they were each trying to outshine the other!

Anyway, I’m sorry for the long email but I wanted to let you know how impressed I was!

I’ve not had a chance to try the detail duster but I’m sure it will be just as brilliant (in all senses of the word)!

Lots of love,

Eva in the UK
