October Habit #15 Helps Someone Out There

Dear flylady,

I am new to all this and trying to get a handle on the clutter. But I do have one fix for all the art work cards etc. I have scrapbooks for all my grand kids and children. Long before The clutter got to me we take the items the kids want to save and scan them and shrink them down to small 2X2 size artwork or let the kids rebuild a b-day card after I scan front and back Then they add them on this year’s scrapbook page!

Thanks hope it helps someone out there

Speaking of paper clutter

Yesterday I dived in my past and memories. I had forgotten I had these letters. I sorted out all those, letters from my dear husband before marriage, letters from friends, letters from old dears ones who are today happily married and parents (or grand-parents?)  and who would be as embarrassed as I would if these writings were read. Letters and poems I eventually inspired without willing it, but which are not a good thing to keep today.  What if someone else happens to read them? Especially if I am not here to explain things? I sorted all this writings, and I am now  sure not to be ashamed if the ones I keep are read some day by my children or husband. I feel much lighter!

Thank you for everything

Honestly, I think your tools are super heroes in disguise!

One of the hardest things for me to bless in my house is a very large, very deep soaker tub.  I don’t use it very often, so I don’t clean it very often, and it gets dusty & yucky looking.  Pre-FlyLady me would just avert her eyes and not look at it.

Now, however, I have FlyLady on my side, and I knew if I used my noggin I could figure out a solution to basically having to stand on my head to reach the bottom of this ridiculous tub.

As I stood staring at the monster in the bathroom, I thought back to when I tried to use a toilet bowl brush.  Unfortunately, the handle wasn’t long enough.  Then I asked myself, “What do I have with a longer handle?”

And then the heavens opened up and I heard angels singing to me, “Use the RUBBA SWEEPA!”

The rubba sweepa worked a miracle yesterday at my house.  I cleaned the whole tub in about 2 minutes, and I didn’t get wet, I didn’t slip because only one toe was holding me to the floor, and I was free of the normal frustration that previously made me want to destroy the tub with a sledge hammer.

Seriously, you should add capes to all of your tools and market them as the super heroes they are!

Thank you for taming my tub.

With love,
FlyBaby Karen
