February Habit #24 My Success

IMG_5644Dear Friends,

February is Declutter for 15 minutes, and we are going to take full advantage of our time. Monday through Friday this month you will get a new Declutter Mission that follows the Zone we are in. If you have a declutter story or an idea that you have found to be useful please send us an email with MY DECLUTTER STORY in the subject line!

February Declutter Mission:

No mission today! I hope everyone has a great weekend.!

Dear Flylady,

I’ve been fluttering for years and you have helped me immensely!  I love to collect things I might need later and sometimes it works and others, mostly don’t. I’ve become better at this over the years as I’ve downsized and each time requires more letting go. I moved from Denver to Richmond 15 years ago and when I got here I found boxes half full and others full of expired coupons I might go through later from Denver! I found those 5 years after I moved!

Anyway my success has come from giving away things I want to keep to people who would use them. I give a LOT of things to the church. They have people who come in once a week to get food, clothing or household needs. I gave them my microwave that worked fine but the clock and timer didn’t work. Someone who doesn’t have any microwave is going to be happy to have one that works even if it’s not perfect.

This year my friend bought a house and needs to fill it. This has been such a wonderful blessing for me! I can give him my duplicates, kitchen stuff, pictures I don’t have room to display but want people to see, linens, outdoor stuff… You get the picture. I don’t have kids so this is probably something most people do with this stuff. I bet if we all helped someone who is just getting started in this world we could share our “possibly might need” to “you need this and I have more than I need” what a world we would have!

Thank you so much for all your help. Especially thanks for continuing to be where we can find you when we go astray. We flutter and head out, then come back over and over again until it sticks. I think it just might stick this time but if it doesn’t I’ll read some more emails and jump in again where ever I am! I’m not behind and no catching up for me. I do what I can today and tomorrow I will start again! Thanks again!

Fluttering in Richmond,
Cindy
