Smelly Garbage Disposal

Dear FlyLady,

I’m still fluttering to use the routines and to get the clutter under control but using baby steps to do it. I have a few of the tools and I’m always looking for new uses for the Rubba Scrubba and would like to share one that has really helped me with my smelly garbage disposal.

Finally realized years ago the reason it gets smelly is the food gunk buildup on the underside of the rubber gasket. What a mess to clean! But now I just put some dish detergent on my Rubba Scrubba, push it in the disposal hole and scrub around under the gasket. Run the water and disposal to rinse it out and you have a fresh smelling disposal!

I’m adding this as part of my shining the sink routine as often as it is needed. Hope this idea will help other Flybabies.

Thank you for all your encouragement!

A Virginia Flybaby

FlyLady here; This is a great idea for garbage disposals. I have never had one so I had no clue about these issues. Rubba Scrubbas get the tough jobs done! Thank you so much for your suggestion.
