Hi FlyLady,
I received 2 Rubba Scrubbas in the mail and immediately put one to good use in the kitchen – so far so good there. I wasn’t sure what I would do with the second one, but since they have received such good reviews I thought I would find a use for it upstairs and I did (just not the cleaning use I anticipated).
I think I will use it as a hairbrush for my daughters! After hearing about how much animals to be brushed with it, I thought Rubba Scrubba would be worth a try as a human hairbrush.
I tried it on myself first – Rubba Scrubba produced a little static in my hair, so I sprayed some spray conditioner on it before I tried it on the dd’s. My 5 y.o. dd has sensory integration dysfunction and has never liked hair brushing or hair shampooing and both are accompanied by a steady chorus of: “OW, you’re hurting me, Mommy, STOP”, in spite of my best efforts to be gentle and patiently work through the tangles.
The second dd doesn’t have sensory integration issues – running from the hair brush is learned behavior for her. Anyway, I tried Rubba Scrubba as a hair brush on my 2 y.o. – granted, she was watching TV at the time – but she sat still and let me brush her hair, all of it. Unbelievable!
Now my 5 y.o. dd won’t let me come near her with another brush – she wants the “purple” one – Rubba Scrubba.
Thanks for making life easier,
Sandy
FlyLady here; I have never thought of using a Rubba Scrubba on a child’s hair! This is a great idea. My hair used to be down to my waist. I would have loved to use a tool like this to get my hair untangled!
