Dear FlyLady,

Just a note to tell you what’s been happening.  Your musings inspired me to tell my husband 2 things that I really wanted.  You said our family can’t read our minds and not to be a martyr.  Speak up and let them help you and know what you want from them.  So…. yesterday I told him that I really wanted a new faucet for my kitchen sink.  It was at least 20 years old and corroded.

I tried very hard to shine my sink but when I worked on the corrosion, pieces of the base would just fall off.  It really bugged me.  That afternoon he came up to me and said,  “Let’s go shopping!”  We picked out a new brushed metal gooseneck faucet with magnetized sprayer and a soap dispenser.  Today he installed it.  It is so pretty that I had to extra shine the sink to go with it.  I don’t even want to put dishes in the sink, it looks so good.  I really love all the new, modern features and convenience of it.

The other thing I asked for is a new microwave for above the stove.  The old one is white with a broken handle that we have glued and zip tied together.  I really wanted one to match our other appliances.  I’ve never had a kitchen with the appliances all the same color, there was always one that was an odd ball.  Tomorrow we are going shopping for a microwave.  As my uncle says, “Ask and ye shall receive.”

Thank for your good advice.  There is lots of love, communication and cooperation in our home now.  We want to bless each other.
